Guilty as charged, I stopped quite a few times. The fields remind me too. And you taught me a new word, canola. We call it rape seed, so I had to look it up just now, and it said it was a "cultivar" of rape seed on Wiki. The intense colour is almost blinding sometimes!
I initially knew it as rape also, however, I think the name was changed in English speaking countries (not sure if in all, but at least some I know) because of the connotations of the word rape; I will need to check that myself ;-)
Veronica - Yes, I can understand the concerns. Most English people I know add the word "seed" to make it sound a little better. BTW in Swedish it is called "raps".
